Zentangle Inktober Tangles Day 7 gave me a pattern that I knew I was going to love.
FLUXECHO is based on the pattern FLUX which shows up in many of my tangles. FLUX creates a beautiful statement that scales well – an easy fill for a small or large space. While FLUX fits well into a nature theme, it also blends seamlessly into more abstract ideas. FLUXECHO, shares FLUX’s versatility. This little thumbnail does not do it justice!
Today’s Tangle
Not quite a monotangle, I created this card using only FLUXECHO and FLUX. If you’re unfamiliar with FLUX, it’s the little leaves that are shooting out of the main FLUXECHO shape. I created this card using a white Sakura gelly roll pen and General’s chalk pastel pencils. Having learned from my mistake on Day 6, I chose a black bristol card instead of a Zentangle tile. A Zentangle tile would probably have worked fine, but I find that bristol works a little better for the gel pens.
I love this strange alien creature that I made here. It reminds me a little of a translucent jelly fish. FLUXECHO earned itself a spot on my list of “go to” patterns, for sure!

The Challenge: Zentangle Inktober Tangles by 7F5R
7F5R (Seven Forests Five Rivers) host a Zentangle version of Inktober every year called Inktober Tangles. Check out their Facebook group to find more information and to see the amazing art created by Zentangle teachers and artists from around the world. Each day, we are given a Zentangle pattern and are asked to create something with it. Some artists create beautiful frameworks to blend the various tangles together into one piece of art. I wish I was that organized! I create a card for each day – it gives me the freedom to change up mediums I use, but it also means I don’t have to prep anything ahead of time!
