Zentangle Inktober Tangles Day 10 presented a two-fer.
The challenge started with FINERY from Zentangle HQ, but also gave the option to include FINEGOGH (ArtAmuse), a variation of FINERY. I think the organizers meant to do one or the other, but I’m an over-achiever, so I did both!
Today’s Tangle
FINEGOGH is a cross between FINERY and VERDIGOGH (also from Zentangle HQ), so I put all three in my tangle. That’s VERDIGOGH peeking out from behind the other two. Of the three tangles here, VERDIGOGH is the only one I’ve worked with. When I look at patterns for my own use or for classes, FINERY just never made the cut for some reason. It turns out that I kind of like it!
The real start here – at least for me – is FINEGOGH. Nature-inspired tangles are my jam. I love these square-ish leaf shapes punctuated by the little fluff lines in between. The challenge – as I found here – is not losing those fluff lines in the tangle. My VERDIGOGH leans away from them on purpose!

Welcome to Zentangle Inktober Tangles Day 1! Today's challenge is the pattern RAIN. The pattern RAIN was created by Zentangle. It's a favorite pattern of mine and I frequently use it in classes, especially for kids. It's simple to draw and makes a striking statement on its own. You can…
Zentangle Inktober Tangles Day 15 pushed me to learn a pattern that I had been ignoring. I had long been aware of NOOM by Zentangle HQ. When you become a Certified Zentangle Teacher, you get catalogue of the tangles created by the team at Zentangle. It's a fabulous resource and…
Zentangle Inktober Tangles Day 3 pattern challenge, ISEA-U creates a potentially spooky tangle. Created by fellow CZT Dory Peeters, this tangle combines eyeballs and mummies! It will definitely appear in future Halloween-themed classes! ISEA-U offers options for embellishments - those stripes can hold all kinds of small patterns. Embellishments could…
