I set out to build a song made (almost) entirely of samples and loops. My goal was to learn about the many ways you can manipulate them so they sound completely different from their original incarnation. When I started this one, there was an element of “Dr. Who” in the instruments – probably because I’ve been binging the series since season 1 of the reboot! In fact, the working title for this song was “Club Doctor” right up until I finished it. When I added the vocode (robot voices) into the mix, though, it moved away from Dr. Who and into a night out with the robots. I hope that if AI takes over the world, that it knows how to party like these guys do!
