LuLu and the Trumpets
I recently was meeting with a collaborator about what we might do for an album. He said that he has a hard time sticking to a theme or an idea. Same. LuLu and the Trumpets kicks me off the Mystical Journeys train, but for a good reason! I have an opportunity that needs one or two 5 song albums, and I don’t want to use Mystical Journeys for a few (vague) reasons. We’ll see if I manage to get two albums together, but I’ll definitely get one together.
LuLu will live on the Nonsense Album along with Slow Tides, 50cc of Joy, and Robot’s Night Out. I have a fifth song ready to go – it just needs to be mixed and mastered and named. You’ll hear that one next month. These songs may seem like an odd combination and if you’re focused on genre (especially), they really are! Each song incorporates nonsense words or syllables as part of the melody or beat.
I hope you enjoy LuLu! I enjoyed bringing her to life. Because of the album’s theme, I came at this song from a different angle. Usually the vocal bits happen after I get chunk of the song written. This time, I started with the messed up sample at the beginning and built it from there. I’m not sure I’ll do it that way again, but it was an interesting approach to try.

Check out my other arrangements and compositions. My library grows every month and now has a variety of styles. Besides world fusion instrumentals, it features electronic music, pop, and a few arrangements of old hymns and carols.
