Fanfare for the Bold

Fanfare for the Bold Brass Hip Hop Instrumental Song

Fanfare for the Bold

Thanks to a nasty round of the flu back in March, my song production schedule is still playing catch-up. Thankfully, Fanfare for the Bold has been hanging out on my file server waiting for a time to be released. For someone who’s trying to build a library, it’s a good sign that I have something in reserve! Generally, because turnarounds are tight, writing for a sync brief can’t happen. But occasionally, one will appear that has a deadline of more than 24 hours. Even these briefs usually fill in a matter of hours, but I use them as an opportunity to see how quickly I can write a song. Fanfare for the Bold is a result of a brief that was looking for a background hip hop/trap instrumental for a sports show.

And, no. My song did not get picked, but I still see a win. I wrote the song over the course of two days which tells me that my workflow is dramatically improving. Over the summer when teaching slows way down, I can use that time to push my production schedule and crank out a few albums!

In two weeks, I’ll be dropping another song from my Mystical Journeys album which currently consists of: In Solitude’s Wake, Echoes of the Wanderers, Celestial Swirls, Skyward Journey, Summit Whispers. (Four more songs to go and I’ll have a full album!) I’m not sure where Fanfare for the Bold will end up. It’s a departure from what I’ve been focusing on, but eventually, I’ll make a home for it somewhere.

Check out my other arrangements and compositions. My library grows every month and now has a variety of styles. Besides world fusion instrumentals, it features electronic music, pop, and a few arrangements of old hymns and carols.
