Music Composition Classes & Lesson Offerings – Teens & Adults
I offer private lessons for teens and adults as well as self-paced music composition classes for beginner teens.
My self-paced music composition classes focus on traditional composition for beginners. The first class in this series requires a small amount of music theory knowledge to get started. The classes build on each other, but if your teen already has the foundation, they can start with a later class in the series. While enrolled, students will be granted a Noteflight account through my studio. Noteflight is a web-based music composition application which allows me to work collaboratively with my students. Classes incorporate lessons on Noteflight so students can hit the ground running with their compositions. Even though students work at their own pace, they have access to me while they work. I offer regular feedback and guidance through out the duration of the class.
All of my self-paced Music Composition Classes are hosted on Outschool. When you register, you pick the start date, so you can be sure it fits in your busy kid’s schedule.
These classes are geared towards beginning composers. If your teen wants to expand upon the basics, please check out my private lessons. If your teen wants to learn more about music production and composing in their Digital Audio Workstation (DAW), also please visit my private lesson page. These self-paced classes only cover traditional composition. If you’re not sure where to start, book a Discovery Call. Let’s find the best place for your teen to explore making music!
About Outschool
The Outschool platform started as a small learning site geared towards homeschoolers. The pandemic saw an influx of students from traditional schooling backgrounds and Outschool responded. Now, it’s a popular platform that serves students world-wise with thousands of teachers and topics. Outschool provides a safe, inclusive space for all learners and has been a part of our family’s homeschool journey since 2017. I became a teacher there in 2020 when the pandemic forced me to close my in-person studio.
