Package, Payment & Cancellation Information

Drop In & Initial Fit Lesson

Payment is due at the time of booking. Cancellations within 24 hours of the lesson can not be rescheduled. Outside of the 24 hour timeframe, unless otherwise arranged with the studio, students have 365 days to reschedule or forfeit their payment.

Flexible Class Packages

Payment for the class pack is due at the time purchase and is non-refundable. Packages must be used during the session they were purchased. Unused lessons will be forfeited at the end of the session. Cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled lesson are forfeited. Outside of the 24 hour window, the lesson may be rescheduled for anytime before the end of the session.

Note that the studio calendar shows three months worth of available time slots at a time. Unless otherwise arranged with the studio, students can book up to three months of lessons at a time. An exception to this can be made for students purchasing class packs for regularly scheduled bi-weekly lessons.

Semester & Academic Year Long Packages

At the time of purchase, students are assigned a weekly day and time for lesson. Cancellations with 24 hours of the scheduled lesson are forfeited. Two weeks of make-up lesson slots are built into the package across the year (one per semester). The first two weeks of the summer session may also be used for make-up lessons. Unless pre-arranged with the studio, absences above the 4 built into the schedule cannot be made up.

The make-up schedule will be published with the studio’s calendar at the beginning of academic year and summer session.

Half of the total package cost is due at sign up. The balance will be divided by the number of months in the package. The monthly payment is due by the first lesson of the month. Payments are considered late if not received by the 2nd lesson of the month and will be subject to a $25 late fee. Payments that are more than 30 days late may result in the loss of the student’s time slot until they are caught up.

Additional lessons and services outside of the scheduled weekly lesson will be charged at the current lesson package rate. Payment will be due at the time of booking for one lesson or when the additional lesson package is selected.

Students may withdraw from the studio at anytime. Unused lessons are non-refundable.

Cancellations & No Shows

Students who miss their lesson with no notification are considered no-shows and are not entitled to a make-up. Students should make every effort to be on time for their lesson. If they are more than 10 minutes late without notifying the studio, the Zoom session will be shut down and the student will be considered a no show.

Exceptions are made for emergencies. Conflicts with other interests, activities or appointments are not considered emergencies.

Lessons cancelled by Air & Ink Studio will be eligible for a make-up lesson.

At the time of sign-up, students are granted access to the Air & Ink Studio calendar. Students will be expected to manage their cancellations and reschedules through the calendar.

Group Art & Music Classes

Group classes are held online via Zoom. During the registration process, students will receive a link to the Zoom classroom for their class.

The price for classes varies based on length of class, materials, etc. Please refer to the individual class listings for more information. Payment is due upon registration.

Refunds for class withdrawals will be issued at the following rates:

  • 7+ days out: 100% refund will be issued.
  • 2 – 7 days out: 50% refund will be issued.
  • Less than 2 days out: No refund will be issued.

Withdrawals must be submitted in writing.

If a one day class is canceled by Air & Ink Studio, a full refund will be issued. If one or more meetings of a multi-day class are canceled by Air & Ink, Air & Ink will make every effort to make the class(es) up. If a make-up date cannot be agreed upon, Air & Ink will issue a pro-rated refund for the classes missed. If a student is absent from a class, they will have access to the class recording for 7 days after the class’s conclusion to make up the material.

Technical Considerations & Materials

Private Lessons

When you book your initial fit lesson, I will provide a detailed document with the bare minimum technical requirements. In general, though, you will need:

  • A device (computer, tablet, or phone) that can use Original Sound via Zoom. All Apple, Windows, and Android products are capable of this setting. Chromebooks are not. If you are using a Chromebook to access your lesson, we will discuss possible workarounds.
  • A working camera and microphone. These can be built into your device or external.
  • A separate device to play your backing tracks. You will be required to play the backing tracks for your songs. These are typically mp3s or YouTube karaoke videos. These must be played on a separate device from your lesson device.
Group Class Materials

Each class listing will specify the necessary materials for the class. Unless stated otherwise in the class listing, students are expected to procure the necessary materials. Art classes typically include a preferred list materials and acceptable alternatives, but if a student cannot find something on the list, they are encouraged to contact Air & Ink Studio for assistance.

Recordings

Private Lessons

If the lesson utilizes a separate audio application (such as Cleanfeed), an audio recording will be created. Students will be granted access to the recording through the student portal or through Google Drive. If the lesson takes place entirely in Zoom, the student must request that a recording be made.

Group Art & Music Classes

Classes will be recorded using Zoom. Unless otherwise stated, recordings will be made available to attendees for 7 days after the conclusion of class.
